Pinotage Rosé on Ice Rocks NEW
While in South Africa for the harvest season, we fell in love with the 2007 Pinotage Rose. Seeking a light thirst quenching beverage from the heat of summer, the Pinotage Rose was perfect with seafood and meat.
We knew we had to bottle some for the USA market as we have not readily seen Rose from the Pinotage varietal (South Africa's unique varietal derived from a cross between Pinot Noir and Hermitage) on the shelf in the USA. The summer season will be upon us before you know it so we invite all our customers to try this very unique wine and taste the sunshine of South Africa in a bottle!
Pinotage Rose is a fresh crispy Rose wine with bright cherry pink colour. The Rose is laden with berries, a raspberry nose carried through by a crisp palate and long lingering flavours. The Pinotage Rose has a fruity nose but is a dry Rose. Served chilled the Pinotage Rose is perfect for lunch or a light meal.

Composition 100% Pinotage Rosé Acid 5.6 g/l
Alcohol 13.5% pH 3.4
Sugar 3.0 g/l
VINIFICATION
The grapes were picked at optimum maturity. Before fermentation the free run juice were used to produce the cherry pink colour.Thereafter the free run portion was fermented at 13°C.
TASTING NOTES
A fresh crispy Pinotage Rosé with bright cherry pink colour, laden with berries, a raspberry nose carried through by a crisp palate and long, lingering after taste.
